Options include:
- Q & A after the performance: A forum to build understanding between live performers and the audience.
- Lecture demonstrations: An opportunity to engage students outside of dance or music studies. Through video or live lecture demonstrations, we actively engage with students or community members interested in the issues we perform about.
- Workshop taught by Artistic Director Nichole Canuso: Dancers as well as community members will work to refine individual technique with poetic, actual, and imagined tools, honing improvisations and leading to powerful, clear dancing. Dancers (or non-dancers) must be interested in investigating their own motivations for dancing.
- Workshop with musician Michael Kiley: As an experienced, professional musician, sound designer and music teacher, Michael Kiley is able to facilitate discussions on a wide-range of topics, including music composition, improvisation, recording, promotion, organization, performance, collaboration, and music technology. Dialogues can be beneficial for students interested in pursuing careers in music-related fields, but also can be enriching for those students simply seeking a better understanding of the process of making music.
- Dance/Music Workshop with Nichole Canuso and Michael Kiley: This is a workshop that explores the relationship of dance and choreography with music and composition. Does the music drive the choreography or does the choreography inspire the music? Nichole and Michael have been collaborating for many years and are still asking those questions. Through this workshop dancers/choreographers and musicians can begin to find the answers for themselves.
