Michael Kiley

Sound Designer / Composer

Michael Kiley is a singer/songwriter/composer and founder of the free music project The Mural and The Mint.  Michael has worked as sound designer/composer for several theatre and dance companies in Philadelphia, which has been his home for the past 9 years.  Among them are Theatre Exile, Brat Productions, Nichole Canuso Dance Company, and David Brick of Headlong Dance Theatre.  This past spring Michael composed an original work for the dance film Here, created by SubCircle.  As a musician with TM&TM as well as his former band, Cordalene, his music has been heard on countless college radio stations across the country, as well as major rock station Y100 and listener supported WXPN in Philadelphia.  One of his recordings charted as high as #30 on the CMJ charts, and he has shared the stage with national acts such as Weezer, My Morning Jacket, Dr. Dog, Phantom Planet, Ben Lee, OK Go, and others.  Mike graduated with honors in 1999 from New Mexico State University with a BA in Theatre and Music.  Here he studied sound design, acting, vocal pedagogy and vocal performance.  He currently works as a voice teacher at The Lawrenceville School, Miner Street Studios.
