Luciana Stecconi

Set Designer

Luciana Stecconi is a Set Designer and Scenic Artist currently based in the Washington DC area. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Luciana moved to the United States in 2002, bringing with her a strong background in Fine Arts & Architecture, and a special interest in exploring the crucial relationship between space and performance. Since then, she has been an active member of the theater community all along the East Coast and has designed the set for numerous projects, including Tarell Alvin McCraney’s In the Red and Brown Water (The Studio Theatre, 2010), 60 Miles to Silver Lake and That Face (The Studio Theatre SecondStage, 2010) Zero Hour (Theatre J, 2009), The Year of Magical Thinking (The Studio Theatre, 2009), Stoop Stories (The Studio Theatre, 2009), A Beautiful View (The Studio Theatre, 2008), Wandering Alice (Nichole Canuso Dance Company, Philadelphia Live Arts Festival, 2008), and Amnesia Curiosa (The Studio Theatre, 2008) among others. She serves as the Scenic Charge Artist for The Studio Theatre in Washington DC since 2006.
Luciana holds an MFA in Theater Arts from Brandeis University, and was recently the winner of the 2010 OUTSTANDING EMERGING ARTIST AWARD during the 25th Annual Mayor’s Arts Awards Ceremony in Washington, D.C.
